Contest

July 23rd, 2008

Monnibo is having a contest for reaching 1000 entries in her blog. There are several different prizes. Hurry over, the deadline is tomorrow!

Here is part of a new quilt I’m test sewing. I chose richer colors, I’m not a big pastel person. They actually look very well together, I’m pleased with how it turned out. It’s even the right size.

Saturday Stirrings has moved! Make sure you change your links.

4 potatoes, cubed (russets will add to the thickness, reds will hold their shape better)
1 onion, chopped
1 stalk celery, cut into 1/2 inch pieces
1 can beef broth
1 can chicken broth
1 cup water
3/4 pound kielbasa sausage, sliced into 1/2 inch pieces (I brown this first, it adds a little extra flavor)
1 can condensed cream of chicken soup
ground black pepper to taste
shredded cheese (this is something we added, sharp cheddar really adds to the flavor)

In a large pot over medium heat, combine potatoes, onion, celery, beef broth, chicken broth, and water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer until potatoes are tender, 15 minutes. Stir in sausage and condensed soup and continue to simmer until heated though and slightly thickened. Season with pepper. Top with shredded cheese.

For Today…July 14, 2008

Outside my Window…mosquitoes are waiting for me to leave.

I am thinking…about Nicholas’ first time at church camp.

I am thankful for…my job.

From the kitchen…too hot to cook, just sandwiches for dinner.

I am creating…scrapbook pages.

I am going…to the orthopedist tomorrow.

I am wearing…jeans and a shirt.

I am reading…nothing at the moment. I picked up three books from the church library yesterday.

I am hoping…for a state job soon.

I am hearing…Crime 360 on the TV.

Around the house…lots and lots of stuff to do.

One of my favorite things…is playing cards.

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week…mostly preparations for convention and the kids coming back home.

Here is a picture thought I am sharing with you…Ivy Grace is ten months old today.

Today he is 11. Today he goes off to church camp for the first time to the same camp his father attended. Today my baby is one year closer to being a man.
