The last few weeks have been mind-boggling for me. I cannot understand how my daughter has turned into this beautiful 15-year old young woman. She is full of enthusiasm for her first year of high school. She has already made new friends at a school-wide retreat. (Her school only has 40 students enrolled.) She is doing things I would never even dream of doing, like falling backwards off an 8-foot platform and allowing her classmates to catch her. I would seriously have a heart attack halfway up the ladder.

She has a love for the Lord that I am only just beginning to understand. She absolutely loves to serve in the church. She is no longer an acolyte but is a full-fledged adult member of the church. She is hoping to be active in the altar guild and cannot wait to get started.

She wants to be a Lutheran kindergarten teacher “when she grows up”. She is so excited to join Future Teachers of America. She cannot wait for her junior and senior year when her school offers cadet teaching.

She wants to be the school mascot this year. She tried to be the volleyball team manager but the coach never contacted her to let her know if that was a possibility. I’m a little disappointed that her email wasn’t answered but I’m hoping there was a good reason.

One of her electives this year is Essence of Acting. Can you see her up on cloud nine? She’s there, I promise. The drama production this year will be in conjunction with The Stained Glass Theatre. I am so excited for this, it will be a very big opportunity for her.

Oh and one more thing. Did you know she turned 15 this past Saturday and is now eligible for a learner’s permit?

Oh.My.Word. Fifteen. Wow! Dj you've done an excellent job raising this gorgeous young lady. She obviously has seen what a godly woman looks like/lives like in your home. I'm so excited for Emily as she branches out into this new adventure called high school. She's going to bloom and I can't wait to watch that happen with you.

    Happy belated birthday Miss Emily!!
