So, on Monday, I had an interview with a 6-person committee at Lincoln University. This was for an administrative assistant position. I was there for approximately 3o minutes, then left for home. I thought the interview went very well and was looking forward to hearing from them, hopefully on a positive note.

Tuesday morning I received a call from one of the interviewers who was on the committee from Monday. She said she wanted to talk to me regarding a position in her office. I asked her which position it was and when she told me, I remember seeing the advertisement for it. It’s in the grant department and I didn’t apply for it because it said you needed to have grant writing experience. She said she wanted to talk to me as soon as possible so I told her I would be there in an hour.

We chatted for about two hours. It was an awesome two hours. She told me that after I left Monday’s interview, the other committee members told her I was the perfect person for her office. I was quite surprised that she told me this, but it was very nice to hear. After all was said and done, she was offering me the position on a 30-day temporary basis. After 30 days we decide if the position is a good fit and if it is, I’m made a permanent employee.

To start, I’ll be making $1.00 more per hour than my last job. After 30 days, I’ll be making $4500 more a year than my last job. I’ve always been a believer of things happening for a reason, I firmly believe this was meant to be.
